INFRARED REPORT FEES
There are two ways in which an infrared camera can document a building:
The basic format is to take the colored infrared images under normal living/usage conditions. These images show where there are insulation voids in the building, causing cold air intrusion and heat or air conditioning loss from the building to the exterior.
The advanced format utilizes a “blower door” which places a negative pressure in the interior of the building; thus accentuating the images produced by the infrared camera, and showing small cracks and crevices that can cause drafts. Additionally, this can also show the number of air exchanges in the building.
For a home up to 2000 square feet ..................................................... $395.00
plus $50.00 per each additional 500 square feet or portion thereof.
This basic format energy inspection includes a thorough scanning of the interior of the home. When areas of concern appear, a digital and infrared image will be taken of that area. Both digital and infrared images will be included in a written, email report with explanations of the images and suggestions for the possible ways to correct deficiencies in each area.
2. Residential Advanced Format:For a home up to 2000 square feet ..................................................... $495.00
plus $50.00 per each additional 500 square feet or part thereof.
The advanced format energy inspection includes a thorough scanning of the interior of the building as in the basic format, with a blower door being utilized during the inspection. This will allow any anomalies to be more pronounced. Further, air exchanges within the house can be calculated. Digital and colored infrared images of areas of concern will be included in a written, e-mail report with explanations and suggestions for the possible ways to correct the deficiencies in each area.
For small commercial buildings up to 4000 square feet ........................ $495.00
Plus $50.00 per each additional 500 Square feet, or portions thereof
This basic format energy inspection includes a thorough scanning of the interior of the building. Whenever an anomaly of significance appears, a digital and infrared image will be taken of that area. Both digital and infrared images will be included in a written, email report with explanations of the images and suggestions for the possible ways to correct deficiencies in each area.
4. Small Commercial, Advanced Format:For small commercial buildings up to 4000 square feet ........................ $595.00
Plus $50.00 per each additional 500 square feet, or portions thereof.
The advanced format energy inspection includes a thorough scanning of the interior of the building while employing a blower door. This will allow any anomalies to be more pronounced. It will also calculate the air exchanges within the building. Digital and color infrared images of areas of concern will be included in a written e-mail report with explanations and suggestions for possible ways to correct the deficiencies in each area.
5. Infrared Camera Imaging Only (without blower door):Infrared Scan only .............................................................................. $120.00
This is a walk-through inspection while using the infrared camera only. You will be shown the images on the camera, and you can take your own notes, but no report or paper images will be generated to describe the anomalies detected. However, during the course of this inspection, you can consult with me as to the deficiencies found and the possible ways, if any, to correct the deficiencies located by the infrared camera.
6. Infrared Camera Imaging Only (with a blower door):
Infrared Scan only with blower door ................................................... $220.00

A note About Fees: Thermal inspection fees with a blower door and a written report can cost from $450.00 to $800.00 or more. Let’s compare this to the cost of your current home or one you may be considering buying:Your current home:
If it is a $300,000 home and your inspection cost $495.00, this is only .00165% of the home’s value: or less than two-tenths of one percent of the value of the home. If you already own your home, isn’t this a tiny amount to pay to learn where you are wasting your energy dollars year after year?
Purchasing a home:
A real estate commission of 3-6% for the sale of this home will be $9,000.00 to $18,000.00. Even though this commission may be paid by the seller, they have surely included it in their asking price (in other words, you are really paying for it). If the sellers (or you) are willing to pay thousands of dollars in commission fees, is $495.00 too great a cost to determine where the home’s energy losses may be before you purchase it?
Where else can you find that type of bargain and value for your dollar?
